If I could find a way
to run away from this world,
I would run
and run
and run
into the great wide unknown
lamenting my sorrows into the darkness
until they far outnumber the cold stars.
Twinkle twinkle little star
how they must wonder what you are
what you will become
what you were
when the world falls to its knees in mercy
talking its last breaths in through clogged windpipes,
not a song left to sing, is there?
Do re me fa so lonely they are
left alone in the world
running through the darkness
but wait-
there is no darkness,
it has become our light.
it illuminates our flaws
our cracked minds
our cardboard signs written in tears and the stains of our wounds
'L S H P
O T O E.
We dance in the dreams of the fallen now,
our pale,
twisted façades become your nightmares
leave you to wake up in the morning in a cold sweat,
comforted by a parent we never had,
given things we never had,
being consoled by empty words that filled our souls.
We are the children of the rope,
the flame,
the knife,
the beatings,
the drugs,
the alcohol,
the pain,
the words,
the cuts.
Welcome to our black parade,
where beautiful dancers wear the soft down of broken dreams
and our clowns tell twisted tricks of death.
say good bye to your old life
say goodbye to your sanity-
there's no space for that here.
Welcome to the halls of hades,
we haunt the shadows
we are the only light in this forsaken place-
don't worry,
you'll get used to it eventually,
after all,
you're one of us now.

Sink or swim
He stood on the dock
One foot reluctantly planted
The other standing at the ready
Like that fleeting moment
Suspended in mid-air
Gleefully anticipating the water on your skin
Yet apprehensive of those undiscovered depths
Which have yet to be kissed by sunlight
She dove in head-fist
Through the reeds and the icy darkness
And watched from below
As the light fragmented
Along the rippled surface
How stunning it was
Even in the deepest and feared unknown
Especially there.
In the light and in the dark
There was only him
He watched as she held her breath
Shackled by his own mind
Wanting for that planted foot
To be freed from its hesitations

I never found the spring
I breathed small errings into the crook of your elbow
eyes half skewed to the weather scheme
Outside, besmirched ink or knife blade in the cusp of light
Overcast and breathing, the sanguine morning
I whispered small resolutions into the crescent
of your pelvic bones, I
stammered in the rocks and choked in the foam
I never found the spring, lost in tired fronds
I left you clues in the seams of your skin, the
flesh sore between my teeth
Milk and copper permeate
the intrepid space our bodies clasp
As we ripen and decay

His Poem
Sometimes I wish
A very silly wish
A wish that only love obsessed girls want
To come true
I wish that my phone will ring
The sweet ringtone
That I specifically set for him
The one that I will never forget
I would immediately pick up
And we’d talk as if nothing had changed
Our friendship would be at the same strength
But the relationship, the love, wouldn’t exist
Why?
Because love caused hatred
Love caused me to cling
To the last hope I had of feeling like craving
It’s not like craving an egg roll
Or craving the tightest hug from the friend
That has cared about you since time started
Oh no
This craving makes me cry
It m
